Christy Kane serves as the executive director of Louisiana Appleseed. In 2007, Ms. Kane was named the ConocoPhillips/ Adams and Reese LLP Fellow for Louisiana Appleseed, splitting her time between the non-profit and her law practice at Adams and Reese LLP. Jessie Haynes, Program Director

Ms. Haynes is Louisiana Appleseed’s Program Director.  In 2001, she received Bachelor of Arts degrees in English and Art History cum laude from Newcomb College of Tulane University, where she was named outstanding undergraduate in Art History for that year.  In 2004, Ms. Haynes received her J.D. from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law, earning a Civil Law Certificate.  More >>

 

 

 Jeannine Sullivan, Legal Fellow

 Louisiana Appleseed also has a nearly full-time volunteer and Legal Fellow, Jeannine Sullivan, who serves as Latino Access to Financial Institutions project leader and provides fund-raising support. Sullivan is the primary author of the report, maintains connections with the banking community and coordinates the efforts of Appleseed’s Latino Financial Access team. She also serves as project leader for a new Louisiana Appleseed initiative: "Preventing Teen Dating Violence through Education." Sullivan has a law degree from Loyola University of New Orleans, where she finished second in her class.

 

 

 

 

 

 Rebecca Maisel, Legal Fellow

 Ms. Maisel has been a Legal Fellow at Louisiana Appleseed since November 2010. Prior to working with Appleseed, Ms. Maisel practiced complex commercial litigation in New York. She received her Bachelor of Science in Marking and Business from Tulane University in 2004. Ms. Maisel graduated, cum laude, from American University Washington College of Law in 2007, where she was selected as a Dean's Fellow for the Trial Advocacy Program and a member of the Moot Court Honor Society. She also represented indigent and mentally disabled clients as a student attorney in the Criminal Justice Clinic.
