Jessie Schott Haynes
Program Director
Ms. Haynes is Louisiana Appleseed’s Program Director. In 2001, she received Bachelor of Arts degrees in English and Art History cum laude from Newcomb College of Tulane University, where she was named outstanding undergraduate in Art History for that year. In 2004, Ms. Haynes received her J.D. from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law, earning a Civil Law Certificate. While at Loyola, she was Vice-President of the Student Bar Association and honored with the President’s Award for Excellence. Upon graduation from Loyola, Ms. Haynes served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Madeleine M. Landrieu in Orleans Parish Civil District Court. Immediately prior to joining Appleseed, Ms. Haynes was a litigation associate at the firm of Galloway, Johnson, Tompkins, Burr and Smith, APLC in New Orleans. While in private practice for nearly six years, Ms. Haynes earned an AV rating on Martindale-Hubbell and was licensed to practice before all Louisiana state and federal courts. She is a tireless community volunteer, serving in a variety of leadership positions and dedicating her time to various nonprofit organizations, including the Junior League of New Orleans and Save Our Cemeteries.
